Saint Bavo's Cathedral is first and foremost a church, in particular the Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Ghent, as well as the main church of the parish of Saint John the Baptist. The cathedral is open for personal prayer. 

SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS

On Sundays and holidays, the Eucharstic celebration takes place at 11 a.m. (in cold winter months; Sunday worship continues in the crypt). 

CHAPTER SERVICES

These chanted Eucharistic celebrations with the St. Bavo Chapter follow the Liturgy of the Hours and take place on Mondays and Fridays in the crypt (Nov-Apr) or in the high choir in the cathedral (Apr-Nov). 

DAILY EUCHARIST

On other days (Tue- Wed- Thu - Sat), daily spoken mass takes place at 8.45 a.m. in the crypt.

The cathedral is open from 8:30 am till 5:30 pm. Except 1th of Jan (closed). Every sunday the cathedral is open from 10:30 a.m. for the Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m.
